All of our adoptable animals are in the care of  volunteer foster parents. The foster families provide a safe place for the animal until placement. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please email us info@alabamaspca.org

Not sure you're ready to adopt? Fostering an animal may be a great way to find out if you're ready! Ask about our Foster-to-Adopt Program

Can't Adopt or Foster? Maybe you'd like to provide sponsorship for an animal. Sponsors are needed to help with vet care expenses as well as food, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, etc. Monetary donations may be sent via http://paypal.com to donations@alspca.org. You may also mail your donation to Alabama SPCA, P.O. Box 78, Northport, AL 35476

Meet Dee-oh-gee. She is a very sweet and goofy adult dachshund who found herself in a situation not fit for a senior girl. She is around 8 years old, spayed, up to date on vaccinations. She is house trained for the most part but does still have a few accidents here and there. She enjoys playing, napping and eating. In typical doxie fashion she is a touch over weight and needs to lose a few pounds. Those familiar with the breed know how extremely important that can be. Dee-oh-gee has not been tested around children or cats to our knowledge. She does have a dachshund personality and does not like when you take her toys away. If children were in the home we would like for them to be 12+. Being a senior lady she would really appreciate a home that is on the more quiet and calm side.

Our Adoption Fee is $125 and goes towards the vet expenses for the animals in our care. Included in the adoption contribution is spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccines, and microchip.
