All of our adoptable animals are in the care of  volunteer foster parents. The foster families provide a safe place for the animal until placement. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please email us info@alabamaspca.org.

Can't Adopt or Foster? Maybe you'd like to provide sponsorship for an animal.  Maisie.......what a lovely girl she is! This darling girl was surrendered by her owner, the man who bred her and made money from her puppies. Prior to surrendering Maisie to the high kill shelter in rural AL, the owner had surrendered 6 other female english bulldogs. Some of them were bred over and over. One even had a prolapsed uterus which nearly killed her. Maisie's story should be enough to convince you to never, ever buy from a breeder.

Maisie is said to be 1.5 yrs old. We believe she has lived most of her life outside and likely on a chain. She's a very friendly girl and appears to be laid back. Maisie is not used to living inside so she's got a bit of learning to do the next couple of weeks. Right now we are working on crate training. Maisie weighs about 60 lbs but she's still too thin. She's being wormed now. Hopefully, the worming and two good meals a day will help her put on a little weight.

Sweet Maisie has no idea what's in store for her. Life has already changed dramatically and she's learning what inside life with a family is like. Maisie will be spayed and vaccinated soon. All dogs are microchipped and will come with a 30 day free trial of pet insurance.

Our Adoption Fee is $125, unless otherwise noted, and goes towards the vet expenses for the animals in our care. Included in the adoption contribution is spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccines, and microchip.
