Meet Duke, a handsome one year old rottweiler mix saved from a rural area in south Alabama. Duke spent the majority of the first year of his life in a kennel with little to no attention, socialization, and care. Since coming into rescue, Duke has been treated for heartworms and made several new friends. He tends to be shy around new people and will bark when he first meets someone new. In no time, Duke will make friends when the new person sits and allows him to come up for a sniff, quick pet on the head, or a treat. Being around other dogs in foster care has allowed Duke the opportunity to learn what a dog's life is all about. Duke plays with his rescue friends, he likes children, and has quickly bonded with his primary caregiver. He will make an amazing addition to some lucky family. A little time, lots of unconditional love, and some patience are all he'll need to become your best friend!
