The Alabama SPCA is a federally recognized 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare and rescue in the state of Alabama. We are NOT associated with nor do we recieve any funds from the American SPCA (ASPCA). We rely entirely on the efforts of our volunteers and kind donations from the public at large. The Alabama SPCA is run entirely by volunteers who recieve no payments for their work. Thus we can legitmately say that 100% of your donations will go towards the animals currently in our care and aid us in rescuing more animals in the future. The Alabama SPCA is a No-Kill organization. Last year we saved over 1,000 animals from high-kill Alabama shelters. Visit our rescue program page to see how do it. You can donate by using the chipin applet on the left bar.
Expenses vs. Contributions
The graph below represents our expenditures vs. contributions for a three month period in 2012. As you can see during two of three months we found ourselves in the red. Only in may did we manage to stay in the black. Almost 90% of our expenditures are vet bills. While about a little over half of the contributions resulted from adoption fees. The rest were split between merchanise sales and public donations.
